The six axes in a six-axis robot refer to six degrees of freedom and are composed of joints and connecting rods. A common six-axis robot is a tandem rotary joint robot. Take the following robots as an example to show its joint and link distribution.
The six axes robot is very common in both scientific research and manufacturing. There are six rotating joints totally. The bottom three joints control the position of the end of the robotic arm, while three joint in upper mainly control the attitude of the end. By adding actuators such as chucks and mechanical claws to the end, the robotic arm can complete a variety of tasks.
Most of the robotic arms used in manufacturing use teaching control in current control level. The process is simple and most tasks can be completed more conveniently.
