The Structure of Slip Ring Motors

Structure and principle of the slip ring motors: The slip ring is composed of a conductive ring, a tail brush, a brush holder, a conductive rod, a collector ring and a slip ring cover. The winding of the wound rotor is similar to that of the stator winding.

The three-phase winding are connect in a star shape, and the beginning of the each phase winding is connected to three copper slip rings, which are fixed on the a rotating shaft.

The ring and ring, the ring and the rotating shaft are all insulate from each other, and are connected with the external circuit through a group of spring-pressed carbon brushes.
